ok, so while im very small (i did only star recently) i have been watching youtube videos since around 2009 and I have picked up a few things:
- Channel art
Channel art is something that will make someone take you (somewhat) seriously, if you have a default banner and a non existent profile picture/avatar, people wont want to subscribe. If you have well designed avatar and banner then that will make people think of you as an active youtuber.
- Colabs
While I'm yet to do a colab (on my channel), its still an important thing to do. If you have say 20 subscribers and you find or know someone with a similar size, and you make a video, any viewers from his channel will have now found your channel, and that could lead to new viewers
-good content
If you make videos recorded on a phone in 480p that is handheld, no one will want to watch you. Another good thing to do is add endcards.
Also, dont advertise in comment sections.... just no.
Like I said, I'm not big at all, but I have quite a bit of youtube experience
