Forums Forum Patch Notes - 21 February 2016

Some small aesthetic changes have been made to the forums subtly over the month of February and we have a new banner and some other things as of today. Some things around the forums have been fixed as well. So here's everything you need to know!

Patch Notes

• Most prominently, we have a new banner now!
  • New resolution of 1170x203px
  • No longer two separate images, makes room for more customizing
• Search bar will no longer slide around on different screen sizes
  • It will shrink to a smaller icon on smaller screens instead
• The forums on mobile will sport the Freedom! logo instead of the new banner
• Certain section icons such as the Freedom! logo have been reworked to look better on retina displays
• The default font for threads is now Open Sans as opposed to Georgia which was previously used
  • This one was subtle, who noticed?
• Buttons across the navigation bar will open in new tabs if they lead off the forums
• New ribbons have been created and will soon be handed out
  • Event Participant 2016
  • Event Winner 2016
• Trophy points have been disabled temporarily
  • The old system was a little broken and inflated
  • Trophies will be brought back once we have a more functional system worked out

There will be more coming to the forums in the near future! Having the option to pick a night theme is an example of a popular request/suggestion and the Forum Team really liked this idea, we would like to make this happen some time.

Oh good at least trophy points will be back. I panicked a little when I saw it disappear XD

I find them to be quite fun.

The old system was flawed, when you reached a certain amount of trophy points you would automatically unlock the next and then the next and on and on until you were pretty much at the top. This was the case with the two users at the top of the leader board at the time whose trophy points seemed (and were) unrealistic.

Some time in the future, the Forum Team hopes to bring back the trophies in a way that makes collecting trophies fun and encourages you to come back and interact with the community.

The search bar would be in the right location in your screenshot had the banner loaded in. Are you having issues loading the banner (even after a few seconds of visiting the page?)

Well, this is awkward... AdGuard blocked banner and that caused issue... Tried in Firefox with uBlock Origin and it loaded fine, so then checked AdGuard on Chrome and found that is ad-blocker issue... My bad for not giving whitelist to this forums
