Review for Planetside 2 (2015), which is a free to play massively multiplayer online first person shooter, developed and published by Daybreak Game Company.
Planetside 2 (2015) was released in November 2012 and re-released on PS4 in 2015. As with its predecessor it features territory control in an open world and promises large scale battles with up to 2,000 players per continent. A comparatively faster paced game than the original it features familiar first person shooter elements such as sprinting, aiming down sights and regenerative shields. On top of that it also features a full day and night cycle and allows players to traverse the maps on foot, in the air or using land vehicles.
As the main focus is on your faction its work noting that when starting Planetside 2 (2015) players are given the choice to pick one of three factions, which can have a surprising effect on the weapons available to you.
- Terran Republic - An authoritarian Colonial Government who are distinguished by rapid fire and large capacity weaponry.
- New Conglomerate - A loosely organised band of freedom fighters who specialise in short and medium range electromagnetic weaponry
- Vanu Sovereignty - A secretive cult who use plasma and laser weaponry.
