It is the year 276 BC in the alternate timeline of Rome's rise to power. The once-dominant faction of Etruria launched a massive invasion against the small Roman town of Ariminum. When the invasion failed, the invaders faced their worst nightmare: The local citizens who had taken up arms and joined the garrison forces and Roman legion to defend their homeland.
