A couple of weeks ago when I was averaging around 1000 views per day, I could expect to earn around $1.25-$1.50 for every thousand views. But now that I am pulling around 3000 to 5000 views per day I am only making around $.60 to $.90 per thousand views. Could someone explain why this is or what changed? About half of my viewers are in Canada and the other half here in the U.S. but it has always been that way and hasn't changed.
If you have partnered with the Freedom Network then they take 40% of your revenue I believe, so that may account for some of the decrease in revenue. Also even though you might be getting more views, if more of those people watching you have ad blockers on then the ads can't run on your videos and as such you wouldn't be able to earn revenue from their views.

It is possible that more of your viewers are using adblock and less clicks on your ads. There are also many other factors like if someone had a action from the ads before but not as many do.

YouTube takes around a 45% slice of advertising revenue, although the CPM (cost per thousand) that advertisers are charged varies.
